Phillida Perry is a director, producer and writer based in Tauranga Moana weaving her backgrounds in law and the arts to craft films that inspire.
Phillida’s short documentaries GOOD KUNST (Misty Flicks, 2025) and BREAKING the MOULD (Doc Edge, 2024) reflect an enduring fascination with visual art, while producing credits MS. INFORMATION (NZIFF, 2023) and SIOUXSIE & THE VIRUS (Loading Docs, 2021) explore Aotearoa’s Covid-19 experience through microbiologist Dr Siouxsie Wiles. She co-produced the short drama PULLING UP STUMPS (2023), featuring Ian Mune and Mark Mitchinson.
Phillida’s current slate includes factual and scripted storytelling — from screenplays inspired by her family’s intergenerational farming history in the Wairarapa to a feature adaptation of Tracey Slaughter’s award-winning novella THE LONGEST DRINK IN TOWN (Story Camp, 2024).
Co-founder of Daughter screen company and a Master of Professional Writing (First Class Honours, University of Waikato), Phillida creates films that celebrate the human spirit and explore female empowerment, identity, purpose, and our deep human need for connection.
